Kailani Johnson

Follow on

“Surfing isn’t just sport; it’s heritage, identity, and a way to uplift others.”

At 18, Kailani Kusuma Johnson made history as the first Indonesian woman to compete in a WSL Championship Tour event. Raised in Bali, she began surfing at five, developing a powerful goofy-foot style that carried her to the global spotlight.

Her CT debut at Keramas was more than a competition—it was a statement for representation. Kailani inspires young Indonesian girls, proving that surfing is a space where women can thrive and lead.

Off the waves, she embodies balance, grace, and mentorship. Supported by Billabong Asia, BGS, and Carisurf Camp, Kailani continues her journey with focus and heart, paving the way for the next generation while honoring the legacy of Indonesian surfing.
